Increase Public Transportation

Support better funding for public buses and other forms of transportation, and installation of new transportation facilities (light inner-city rail, etc). Better public transportation reduces economic and environmental costs and provides more opportunity to citizens, especially lower-income ones.

Amend U.S. Constitution to Reverse Citizens United

Advocate for an Article V constitutional convention to establish a 28th amendment to the US constitution that reverses Citizens United and declares that corporations are not people under the law.

Remove "Professional Exemption" from Labor Law

Currently, the Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) has a loophole that allows companies to get out of the time-and-half overtime pay; it's called the "Professional Exemption" and in being vague, allows business to cheat workers by calling anyone they can a "professional" due to their work being intellectual in nature. Stand in Support of Drilling Moritorium in State Forests & Parks

Corbett wants to balance budget by ruining our parks and rec areas.

 

It is especially troubling that the governor intends to raise $75 million by ending the ban on gas drilling beneath state forests and parks.

Establish a Living Wage

Revise PA's minimum wage laws so that the state's minimum wage will automatically increase each year based on the current cost-of-living within the state. The minimum wage will be calculated such that two working adults will be able to support a family of four WITHOUT relying on government subsistence.
